Benon Tugume Weds Auntie Jackie Manager of Country Radio in a Joyful Ceremony

Rukungiri: Joy and praise filled the air as the principal of Rukungiri Institute of Management Benon Tugume, exchanged vows with his wife, Jackline Tumuheirwe, popularly known as Auntie Jackie and the station manager of 87.6 Country Radio.

The ceremony took place on December 15 at Yakobo Orikwera Buhandagazi Church of Uganda in Nyabiteete Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese.

Tumuheirwe, renowned for hosting programs like Himbisa Mukama, Amagara No’rugyendo, and English news anchoring, is celebrated not only for her professional journalism but also for mentoring young journalists and spreading the gospel of Jesus.

The wedding, combined with a thanksgiving service and the baptism of their children, Itungo Jordan and Ihunde Oner, was officiated by the Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese Rt. Rev Onesmus Asiimwe . The Bishop commended Tumuheirwe for her dedication to broadcasting his pastoral visits, which helps spread the gospel across the diocese.

In his homily, Bishop Asiimwe emphasized three pillars for a successful marriage: love, submission, and faith in Jesus. He advised the couple to love each other, remain submissive, and keep Christ at the center of their marriage for enduring happiness.

With a radiant smile, Tumuheirwe thanked her husband for being her biggest supporter and guiding her during her radio broadcasts. She described Benon as a counselor, teacher, and friend.

In his speech, Benon Tugume expressed gratitude to Bishop Asiimwe and Ven. Enock Karamuzi of Nyabiteete Archdeaconry for their teachings on marriage. He underscored that learning is a lifelong journey, from birth to death.
