Country Radio 87.6 FM Bids Farewell to Presenter Cosbert Amanya.

Rukungiri: Country Radio 87.6 FM, located in Rukungiri District, has bid farewell to Cosbert Amanya, who has been serving as a presenter and head of production and marketing.

The farewell event took place at the station’s offices on Rwanyakashesha Hill, Kifunjo Cell, Kyatoko Ward in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality on June 5.

Cosbert joined Country Radio in December 2023. He has been hosting the Country Morning Program, also known as Obusheshe, every Monday to Friday from 5:00 am to 9:00 am, and the Saturday Dance Mix show every Saturday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm.

During the farewell, the station manager Jackline Tumuheirwe, also known as Auntie Jackie, appreciated Cosbert for his commitment, leadership, and teamwork. She said his contributions to the station will be missed but expressed happiness about his next journey.

Other staff members including Onesmus Nahabwe, Chrispino Behimbisa, Domisiano Ayebare, and Chrispus Kamusiime shared their memories and described Cosbert as a hardworking, friendly, and humorous person. Many said they initially thought his departure was a joke due to his playful nature, but later realized it was true and felt sad to see him go.

In his farewell speech, Cosbert thanked the station founder Dr. Gracious Ariyo, station management, fellow staff, and loyal listeners for the support and friendship during his time at Country Radio. He also appreciated the business community for their continued support through adverts and announcements, and encouraged them to keep supporting the station.
