Besigye gives hope to Rukungiri FDC fraternity
The four time presidential candidate Rtd Col Dr Kiza Besigye has revealed that the Forum for Democratic change (FDC) party will rise above all the challenges it is facing apparently.
Besigye who is the FDC founding father was over the weekend speaking to the party leaders from Rukungiri district at Kings Hotel located in Rwobusisi cell, Kyamakanda parish, Buyanja sub-county Rukungiri district.
His message comes at a time when disagreements between top leaders of FDC have been escalating as one side accuses the other of destabilizing the party.
The Party President Patrick Amuriat and Secretary General Nandala Mafabi are being accused of obtaining dirty money from National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party Chairman Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
However, they deny all the allegations.
Besigye told FDC leaders that they have the obligation of defending and protecting the party from external forces.
The former Rukungiri Municipality Member of Parliament Mugume Roland Kaginda distanced himself from the dirty money accusations promising to follow it’s source and enroute to the party.
The chairperson LCIII Buyanja sub-county Agaba Emmy Rubondo who was among those that attended the meeting told our reporter that Besigye’s message was hope reviving. However Besigye has not yet expressed interest in contesting for the presidency in the upcoming 2026 general elections, Rubondo stressed that they will support him to assume Uganda’s highest office.
